Working directly from a model (preferable) or one of the images in the Powerpoint below, draw the human figure in three positions:

Standing 

Reclining

Seated

Work traditionally using pencil, conte, chalk, or pen (color optional)

These drawings should emphasize structure, proportion, and foreshortening. Do not include any details such as facial features, or hair unless sketched in very generally.

• scale of figure to format

• proportion

• structure

• foreshortening

• tone/value

• line

• lighting
