Compositions based on Gestalt Design Principles
Using gouache, create two compositions that are 8” x 10” on watercolor paper. Start by doing thumbnails and preliminary sketches on drawing or tracing paper to develop your ideas.
One piece will deal with the Gestalt principal of completion (or closure).

The other piece will deal with Gestalt principals of your choice of the following: proximity/grouping, continuity, or ambiguity. Your piece can have a white background or you can use gouache throughout. In this assignment you should use shades of gray, black and white.
Watercolor paper is recommended for this assignment. The border should be 2” at the top and bottom and 1” or 1.5” on the sides.
