Landscape and Memory

Landscape can be a mental as well as a physical space. In this project we will use references, memories, imagination to develop our painting.  We will, at the same time, explore the techniques of painting nature, specifically water and clouds.

1. Research: See PPT and links below

2. References: Print photos

3. Thumbnails: Do at least 20 thumbnail skecthes trying out different formats and compositions

4. Choose canvas dimensions and purchase stretchers

5. Stretch and gesso - two coats

6. Underpainting and making changes until composition is established

7. Develop and finish
